Think I Got It WorkingPosted: January 7, 2010 | |
I decided again to try using a desktop email client again.
After trying Outlook, and a program called
I was in despair about ever finding a desktop email client that would be accessible. So i decided to try
Windows Live Mail
Which i couldn’t work in a previous version of JAWS.
I wasn’t gonna let it beat me though. So i installed it, and have spent the last hour searching, and trying to get it to work.
When you press F6 it switches between panes. I can’t remember the actual steps as to how i got my messages to display. It’s kind of complicated so i’ll write the steps for it as i do it. I’m not sure if you will have to do this every time you open your inbox though.
So once you log in to Windows Live Mail, you will see the list of messages briefly. You will then have to type your password in again. Now you will see a tree view. Don’t do anything. Press the F6 key, to switch panes.
You will now see some buttons like “Mail” and “Shortcuts”. Press the Up arrow until you get to “Your Profile Name” button, and press the left arrow once. You will just hear “Button”, so press the space bar to open a context menu. Choose the option “Quick menu”. This presents what looks like another context menu. Choose the “Layout….” dialog.
You will now see alot of buttons. The first button you come to is the “Reading pane (Mail) button”. Press Space on this. Now Tab once, and you will see a “Reading Pane” checkbox, which should be checked. Tab again and you will choose where to position it. I have it positioned at the bottom, so just check that box. Now Tab until you get to the “Apply” button.
Finally press Shift and Tab until you get to “Okay” and press Enter.
Let me know if this works. If it doesn’t, i’ll do some more experimenting.
I hope i don’t have to go through all of these steps every time i open the inbox. Maybe i’ll leave it open when i am in it lol.
I told you it was complicated!!!!!! Sorry if this doesn’t make sense.
