I got my calculator today. I have also got JAWS professional!!! I haven’t got that working yet, as i still need to get my CD drive working.

Hopefully I can get it working soon!!!! I also got a USB drive to put the JAWS onto, so that I can carry it everywhere.

Unfortunately, though, I have to give everything back. Getting laptop tomorrow though!!!!!

Once again, yayyyyyyy

Wahoo!

It seems like ages ago, but
Remember the support
I was meant to get at the college?

Well I came back from doing some revision with my mentor and discovered an email from the support people at the college. I wasn’t sure what it was about, as I had arranged extra time with them and stuff. I couldn’t believe it!!!!!!! I am getting my calculator and the JAWS software I’ve been waiting for!!!!!!!! Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am so pleased!!!!! Even though it’s a bit late, i’ve still got it. Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I’m getting it on Monday!!!! Once again, yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!! At least I won’t have to use my mentors’ calculator now!!!!! Yayyyyy!!!

Getting Nowhere….

You’ll remember how i
Didn’t have some of my equipment yet
Well I still haven’t got it. I went down to the college today to speak to someone about the lack of equipment. Everyone were in a meeting. I left my number for the exam officer to ring, as she too was in a meeting.

The exam officer just rang, and apparently she can’t sort out if I get extra time or not. That is up to the support people of the college.

I’m gonna ring them tomorrow. They better have some answers, as my first exam is next Thursday!!!!!

Disappointed

I was at the local college today, seeing if I would get into the health and socialcare course, after my GCSE results. Well i’m very disappointed to say, that I will not be doing the course this year, instead, I will be doing my Maths and English again. It’s a bit shit, considering, it’s my English GCSE waisted.

Oh well. The good thing is that I can boost my experience in care settings, while doing my Maths and English.

They are keeping the course open, and say that they would rather me do it now, than be kept back any more than I have to be. So at least that’s good.

At least they are willing to let me do the GCSE’S now, rather than wait.

It’s unfortunate, but better than nothing.

Open Day….

A couple of weeks ago, I told you about my appointment with
The Local Collige
Well last night, I checked out an intergrated school. It’s mainly A levels that they do.

If I was going to this school, I would be doing 3 A levels. I would be doing Sociaology, Health and social care, and Sycology. I just learnt about what was on offer, and the work involved. A lot of it seems similar to what the other collige offered. I would get braille too here.

I am probably still going to go to the teck though. I think it would be better for me in the long term. Plus, the idea of going to school isn’t top of my list. Also, the universities look for lots of experience too.

We’ll just have to see what the results bring. Hope I do get in to collige.

College Appointment….

Today I made an appointment to go down to the local college to ask if they did braille, and what courses they did.

We first talked to the head of courses. She has recommended that I do a national deploma in health and social care. This will be the equivelent to 3 A levels. I need 4 GCSE’S with a C grade or above to get on to it.

Next, I met the learning support officer. If I do decide to take this course, I will be provided with a laptop with JAWS, and a dictaphone to record my notes. I will also get braille if there is anything I need to get done. This is so cool!

I am going to keep my options open for the moment, and check out other schools/colleges.

I will keep you posted!!
